The Golden Spoon Awards

Last night we put out the red carpet and welcomed some celebs to our black tie event; the ‘Golden Spoons‘ award ceremony.

It was a really fun night and the perfect way to finish off our last ‘Redefine‘ Bible study before the summer break.

All the young people that come to our events and the leaders got dressed up in their best clothes and were greeted at the door to Ty Llywelyn Community Centre with a red carpet and Sparkling Grape juice in champagne flutes.

It really was a great evening.

We had a plethora of awards to hand out. Awards that celebrated the uniqueness of each attendee of ‘Redefine’, both from the young people to the leaders. There were many laughs to be had, especially when our very own LLYFC administrator Todd Warden-Owen did a bit of interpretive dancing to a comedy song played and sung by our director Tim Gough. It was a hilarious moment.

The room was all decorated with glitter and gold and there were mountains of Ferrero Rocher chocolates covering the tables that each of the young people were sitting at. Lights were strewn throughout, festooning the ceilings and walls. We had gold and glamour everywhere you looked.

It was great being able to honour and celebrate the young people that come to ‘Redefine’. To really honour the person that God has made them to be and the ways in which his nature and character shines through them.

All too often in today’s world; people are so quick to tear each other down, to point out each others shortcomings, flaws and faults. It was great to come against that spirit of the age with the heart of the Father and the spirit of His kingdom. To speak life; to show love and to build one another up.

For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” – 1 Thess 5:9-11

Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.” – 2 Corinthians 13:11

As all of the leaders at ‘Redefine’ will agree it has been an honour for us to see so many young people grow and develop in their relationship with Jesus. It was great to celebrate this and them last night.

We also want to give a massive golden spoon award to all of our faithful supporters; that’s you reading this blog post now.

Thank you for faithfully sowing much needed finances into the work of LLYFC. Thank you for faithfully praying for us and all of the work we are doing. Thank you for faithfully praying for all of our workers and young people. Thank you for giving of your time at the different events we hold. So thank you.

Have a great week, and a great summer.

Be blessed!
